Research Interests

High quality experimental data is essential to validate and improve existing chemical kinetics models and in general combustion models. My research emphasis is to produce this high quality data especially for practical (engines, turbines) conditions which will help to improve both engine/turbine designs and combustion kinetics models.
Shock Tube is ideal for studying combustion kinetics as it provides near constant volume conditions and decouples the complex combustion phenomenon from other affects so that the combustion process can be studied with least uncertainties.
Laser diagnostics provides the essential non-intrusive experimental techniques to study the combustion process quantitatively.
I am also interested in fuel tailoring for future high pressure low temperature engines.
