My research interest lies in the development of both experimental and theoretical methods that are applicable in the energy industry. To this end, my areas of research primarily focus at understanding of chemical reactions in the gas phase at a molecular level to deduce reasonable thermodynamic and kinetic parameters. The pressure and temperature dependence of the rate coefficients that are determined experimentally, are further analyzed using statistical rate theory. In addition, my research also focuses in the areas of sour gas properties and sulfur chemistry relevant to the production, processing and utilization of sour natural gas, sour crude oils, oil sands and their related products with particular interest in the experimental determination and modeling of the viscosity surface of sour and/or acid gas fluids, and hydrocarbon system to quantify the effects of salinity and specific gravity in the water content of the system.
